Aim and Objectives:

  • To spread awareness about Indian Knowledge among young generation.
  • To inculcate values and skills among students for Indian knowledge reservoir.
  • To provide solutions / alternative to the world on the basis of Indian /knowledge System.
  • To generate interest towards Indian Ethos for enhancing the acceptance of Indian Knowledge System at global level.

Unit 1: Introduction to Vedic Literature and Upanishads

  • Vedic literature and its historical significance
  • Definition of Upanishads
  • Significance of Upanishads in the Vedic tradition

Unit 2: Major Upanishads-

  • Ishavasya Upanishad, Kena Upanishad, Katha Upanishad,  Prashn Upanishad, Mundaka Upanishad

Unit -3 Major Upanishads –II

  • Mandukya Upanishad, Taittiriya Upanishad, Aitaireya Upanishad, Chandogya Upanishad, Bruhdaranyaka Upanishad.

Unit 4: Stories and Teachings of Upanishads

  • Stories in the Upanishads
  • Ethical and moral implications of the Upanishadic teachings
