DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of English has been functioning since the inception of the college in 1963. Currently, the department has 04 permanent faculty members, all holding the highest academic qualification, i.e., Ph.D. Dr. Suresh Gadhavi is an Associate Professor and serves as the Head of the Department. He is also an IQAC Coordinator of the Institute.

English is offered as a major subject within the curriculum, and in response to evolving demands, the Department has introduced specialized courses such as Job Oriented Language Skills, Functional English, and Communication Skills. The Department also offers a Certificate Course in ‘Practical Use of English Grammar’. These courses aim to cultivate the essential soft skills required for students to thrive in the competitive scenario.

In alignment with contemporary trends and employment opportunities, the Department is committed to consistently updating and revising its teaching-learning practices and evaluation systems. This ensures that students within the Department are not only adept at carving a niche for themselves but are also well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the nation-building endeavors. The overarching goal remains to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in a dynamic and competitive age.
