DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of History has been functioning since the inception of the college in 1963. Presently there are two permanent faculties in the Department. Dr. Bhavanaben Prajapati is the Head of the Department and rendering her service as a NSS Progarmme officer. The focus of the department is on teaching Regional History, Indian History, World history and Tourism.

The Department offers a Certificate Course titled ‘History for Competitive Exams’. In addition to its academic pursuits, the Department is committed to nurturing a sense of national consciousness and awareness among students. An annual commemoration of various Martyrs Days stands as a testament to this commitment, serving as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of freedom. This thoughtful initiative not only adds a layer of cultural and historical depth to the academic environment but also instills a profound sense of national pride and duty among the student community.
