DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The inception of the Department of Gujarati coincided with the establishment of the college in 1963. At present, the Department has 03 permanent faculty members, among whom two hold a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.). Prof. Amita Bhatt is a Head of the Department, providing academic leadership.

In furtherance of scholarly pursuits, the Department regularly organizes State and National-level seminars and conferences, often in collaboration with esteemed bodies such as the Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, UGC and other funding agencies. The Department also offers a Certificate Course in ‘Gujarati Grammar’. These initiatives serve as platforms for the dissemination of knowledge, intellectual discourse, and the advancement of academic research within the realm of Gujarati language and literature. The Department’s emphasis on both academic rigor and societal contribution reflects its dedication to holistic education and intellectual development.
