About Anand Arts College

Anand Arts College, Anand heralded a new era of higher education and opened new vistas of education in Anand town since it was the first college in the region set up way-back in 1963 – the first institution of Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal. The institute is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar as a recognized college under section 2(F) and section 12(B) of the U.G.C. Act. It is a grant-in-aid co-education college located at the centre of the Milk-city Anand.

The college was honoured with The Best Arts College of Gujarat State Award way back in 1983-84 in view of its unique role and contribution in the spheres of education, culture and social regeneration. The institute has implemented the new curricula in line with NEP with its thrust on Indian Knowledge Systems and Skill Enhancement from the academic year 2023-24 as per the guidelines of the affiliated University and UGC. The institute offers B.A. degree course in 8 Subjects which include English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Psychology, and Sociology.

The college has campus area of 4046.86 sqm. and built-up area is 1499.32 sqm. The college has three storied building lined by lush green trees, plants and floral growth. The college possesses conducive infrastructural and physical facilities for teaching-learning, such as Library, Seminar Hall, Auditorium, Computer Lab, Language Lab, Psychology Lab, Reading Room, Innovation Club, Yoga Centre, Research Centre, Gymnasium, Canteen, Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel. Among the 21 well ventilated classrooms, 8 classrooms are equipped with technological aids such as LCD Projectors, Smart Boards and Wi-Fi connectivity, The college library has an extensive collection, comprising 53,133 books, along with subscriptions to a diverse range of magazines and journals.

The college has always been in forefront for innovations in teaching and learning. Daily log-book (diary) is unique feature of the college since 1980. The college has consistently maintained high performance which is reflected by bevy of first classes and Gold Medalist students. The institute has successfully completed 2 cycles of NAAC Accreditation.

Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal (SRKSM) has earned a name as a reputable and distinguished institution for providing its services in the field of education and social welfare to the people of Anand town and neighboring rural areas since last six decades. Adopting the principle of Shri Ramkrishna Paramhans and his ardent disciple SwamiVivekanand- “Devotion towards Humanity”, Late Shri G.S. Patel, popularly known as Vakil Saheb, took the initiative by providing social services and established Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal with the motto of “Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay”.

Anand Arts College, under its auspices, stands as a beacon of values, dedicated to providing education par excellence. Alongside the BA programme in eight subjects, the college provides add-on courses such as Diploma in Yoga, Life with Bhagvad Gita, Personality Development, and Soft Skills, among many others, catering to diverse educational needs of the students.
